American Numismatic Association Museum (The Money Museum) - Displays a world-class collection of coins, paper money and medals from ancient Rome to modern-day America.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo - The only mountain zoo in the US is very hilly; however there is a zoo shuttle which will allow you to see the exhibits. The admission fee to the zoo also includes admission to the Will Rodgers Shrine of the Sun which is above the zoo. You can access the Shrine via a road through the zoo.
Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center - Features famous works of art and scuplture and live theatre housed in one of Colorado's finest architectural achievements. The museum is immediately west of the American Numismatic Museum.
Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum - Preserves the history and culture of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region.
Dr. Lester Williams Fire Museum - Contains a large collection of memorabilia from the Colorado Springs Fire Department amassed by Dr. Williams since approximately 1946.
Dinosaur Resource Center - Features amazing dinosaurs, giant fish, mammals, reptiles, fossils, interactive exhibits, guided tours and experts in paleontology. Located in Woodland Park, 20 minutes west of Colorado Springs on Hwy 24.
Fallen Firefighters Memorial - Honors firefighters in Colorado Springs and across the nation, located in Memorial Park just east of downtown on Pikes Peak Avenue.
Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument - See fossilized redwoods and insects. Approximately 40 minutes west of Colorado Springs.
Focus on the Family - Wholesome family entertainment. Christian ministry devoted to the preservation of the family. Tons for kids to do.
Garden of the Gods Park - 1300 acres of FREE city park with huge, red sandstone rocks. One of the trails is paved and accessible. There is also a shuttle to take you through the park. Click here for more information on the accessibility of the park.
Ghost Town Museum - Amazing place with hundreds of old western town artifacts on display. Pan for real gold or shop at the museum store. Revisit the 1800s at this unique exhibit.
Glen Eyrie Castle - Original home of William Jackson Palmer, founder of the City of Colorado Springs.
Miramont Castle Museum - Built circa 1895 originally as a private home. It is now a restored Victorian-era museum featuring nine different styles of architecture. Tour includes a miniatures museum and a Victorian gift shop. They have a wheelchair ramp at the main entrance and chair lift that can take a visitor to the 2nd floor. There is also a chair that goes up a back staircase that can take visitors to the 3rd floor... it's a chair and can't hold a wheelchair. However, if the person can get in the chair itself they have a wheelchair at the top of the lift that can be used.
Old Colorado City History Center - Features history of the original capital of Colorado.
Pikes Peak America's Mountain - The mountain is accessible via the Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The trip is 3 hours and 10 minutes roundrip. You will be allowed 30-40 minutes on the summit and must ride down on the same train.
ProRodeo Hall of Fame/Museum of the American Cowboy - Chronicles the history of the sport of Rodeo.
Rock Ledge Ranch - A living history ranch. The ranch is relatively flat but most of the walkways are gravel.
Royal Gorge Route Railroad - 2-hour ride through the Royal Gorge in Canon City. 45 minutes southwest of Colorado Springs.
Seven Falls - A series of small, cascading waterfalls is viewable from Eagle's Nest. There is an elevator in the granite mountain across from the falls. The falls are lighted at night. See Native American dancing during the summer.
Swing High Playground - This handicap accessible playground, located at 715 Prospect Lake Drive, the southwest corner of Memorial Park, is meant for children of various ability levels. Their goal is to create opportunities that eliminate boundaries to spontaneous play and no child is forced to “leave their legs behind.”
U.S. Air Force Academy - Military Academy where future Air Force officers are trained. Tours are self-guided. The one-third mile trail between the Visitor Center and the Cadet Chapel is steep in areas and can be difficult for those with physical challenges. Please bring your own wheelchair. The wheelchairs at the Visitor Center may only be used inside the facility and cannot be taken outside. Visitation is based upon the current security levels and is subject to change without notice due to increased security conditions. Visitors should enter through the North Gate.
U.S. Olympic Training Center - One of only three in the US. Take a regularly scheduled tour of the grounds. Most of the property is accessible.
Western Museum of Mining and Industry - Features working steam engines and restored mining machines, hands-on exhibits, gold panning, minerals, two donkeys and more.
